ESP8266 is an affordable WIFI capable controller. ESP201 is a more breadboard friendly and has more pins compared to other alternatives. This module is powerful enough to run a simple server while host it's own WIFI network. Putting the WIFI features aside, ESP8266 is still a very capable microcontroller. With a clockspeed of 80MHz (overclockable to 160MHz) it far exceeds most Arduino with only 16MHz.

Firmware can be flashed directly on the module using Arduino IDE instead of tethered to another microcontroller.**

*Include IPX antenna.
